Meetings & Street action in Corinthia, 18/03, 22/03/2012, 01/04/2012
Dear friends,
How are you?
Our “March sessions” were very interesting and exciting!
We would like to share with you some experience:
On 22nd of March, in the European action week against racism, we came together and organised an “Street action against racism and value diversity”in the streets of the small town of Kiato. Together with other participants from different countries – Italy, Latvia, France we wanted to bring the anti-racism facts into the society and remind people that we are living in united world, so there’s no place for any kind of discrimination.
The street action consisted from “Free hugs”, to complete Questionnaires that we prepared in our meetings before, from Graffiti and from other actions as to actively involve people and ask for their opinions and thoughts on a discrimination subject and get to know how they are familiar with human Rights issues.

Dear friends!
Very nice to see you in action;) You became artists;)
It is really cold period last days in Greece, snowing…but it’s inspiring. We will try to keep some snow for you too;)
We had a very good time last month. We have been very creative;)
We expressed our views on Human rights through some art techniques as painting, drawing, collage, graffiti, photography. We created some postcards, poster, promotion panel, photo documentation.
As an inspiration we used also some articles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
You will have the chance to see our result very soon and share with us your opinion and find out which articles we have tried to illustrate;)
See some photos.
Hugs from the Greek group.
See U soon!

Volunteering Actions - 10th and 19th December 2011
Hi people from Corinthia!! ;)
That is so nice to see your pictures and the activities you were doing..the exhibition organised by the Amnesty International reminded us the one we had here in August during the Youth Exchange, remember? ;)
So, as you are so curious about us..we will let you know what we did to help our community here.
The first action was to support a local institution that hosts around 30 children that were taken from their families because of social problems. These children faced many difficulties in their short life and need a lot of care and attention so we went there to make them a bit more happy during one morning. It was so much fun!!! We played a lot with them and their energy and smiles made us feel great and useful…:) Unfortunately, we couldn´t take take good pictures because we were not allowed..

The second activity was yesterday! We had a great task to do: to clean and paint the stables of sheep that belong to Cercimarante (the institution for disabled people). It was a hard and “wet” work!! We didn´t know before that the place was sooooo dirty, we were just prepared to paint walls but when we got there we realised that it wouldn´t be easy..just spiders webs, dust and even some “cute” mice!!lol As we are in the Christmas holidays, many of us were out of Amarante and didn´t participate but even if we were just a few people we worked a lot and could manage to clean everything outside..though we couldn´t paint the walls as it was everything wet..including us!! :)))
It was also a funny afternoon doing a useful thing and helping an institution that really deserves!

“Voluntary action week” 06.12.2011, 09.12.2011
Dear friends!
We have news from our Voluntary actions of December.
We have been participating and helping in the “Voluntary action week” organized by the Youth Centre of Corinthia in Corinth.
We have been divided in two groups and helping to organize this action and a “Donation Bazaar”.
We had 2 sessions on Voluntarism in general, on International voluntarism and European Voluntary Service (EVS) and how we can participate on it.
We helped to create an Database of National volunteering opportunities and participated in the Info day of the Youth Centre of Corinthia.
We have met European volunteers and Ex-volunteers participating in EVS in the Youth Centre. They shared with us their experience, opinions and how does voluntarism in their countries works.
The key action of this week was the “Donation Bazaar”, where we have been collecting all kind of material (e.g.: clothes, shoes, bags, toys, food…) from people they don’t need it anymore and spend it. All this collected material will be given to people with difficulties.
After collecting, putting things in order, doing a list of all material, we created a “Thank You” poster.
By giving a hand, we could help people in need and this gave us a warm feeling of philanthropy.
What about you? Please share with us your activities.
Hugs from the Greek group.
